Productive Reading: DailyLit

Came across this very cool site called DailyLit, which allows you to sign up to receive a chunk of text, that can be read in 5 minutes or so, from a good selection of public domain books.

You can opt to have the text emailed to you or subscribe to an RSS feed. You can select the frequency of when the sections of the books are sent to you—daily, weekly, whatever—and even the time of day you want to receive the text.

So far, I’ve got The Tao Teh King, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and The Art of War all coming to me on a daily basis in segments that can be read in 5 minutes. This means that it will take me 17 segments to get through The Art of War.

I really like this idea, as it will offer me a much more edifying use of some of my non-productive moments of time, than looking at whatever idiocy floats around the interwebs at any given moment (Perez Hilton).
